During a trip to Egypt in 1980, Orlopp listened to the sound of four huge watermill wheels . Five years later, this experience became a film project: Over the course of several trips to the country, he recorded sound on tape and collected about 3 hours of footage. The film was then created over a period of five years, primarily at the editing table.
